What makes a good boss?
What makes someone a pleasure to work for?
What do they do (or not do) that means you enjoy your work? Can you think of at least 3 qualities that you value in a boss or line manager? Can you think of at least one person you have worked with who has these qualities?
And then there’s the dark side…
Have you worked with bosses who possess characteristics that are less appealing? Try and think which ‘qualities’ you don’t consider to be positive attributes. If you are a manager, show some self-awareness and consider if you have any of these negative traits. If you have , can you make an effort to change? What about the positive qualities – have you got plenty of these and can they be developed even more?
